Public vs Private Info

 We are learning about our digital footprint. We talked about private and public information.

I learned not to give your address to other people.

I already knew not to give my birthday to other people. 

Sir Peter Blake

 

Last term Blake Nz visited our school. We learned about marine reserves. We were able to use VR set to explore the oceans. I found it easy to learn about how to protect the ocean because the VR sets made it interesting.

We also learned about Sir Peter Blake. Sir Peter Blake was the worlds most celebrated yachtsman.

I found it easy to use the VR sets because it made me feel like I was under water too.

Clickety-Clack Cicada

In this poem we looked for differe1nt language features. I found soome like onomatapia,verbs,metaphors We have been learning about language features during Literacy. The way we have been doing this is by reading and understanding poems. 

Some of the fetures we spoted in the poems are metaphors, verbs, onomatopoeia, and adjectives. 

This week we read Clickety-Clack Cicada by Jill Brasell.

I found it easy to reconise some of the speech quality such as metaphor, onomatopoeia, and verbs.

I found it hard to track down the similes because it is an area I think I need to work on more.

I really enjoyed learning about metaphors because they make the story more interesting and help to create an image in our mind about what the poet is trying to tell us.

Next time I need to work on talking through about the poem more.

The Loaves

We were learning about metaphors. A metaphor compares two different things. In this poem the author used metaphor to compare bread to clouds. 

I found it easy to write and decorate. I created a koru pattern border.

I found it hard to find metaphors. But I really enjoyed trying find the metaphors. 

Next time I need to find all the metaphors straight away.

I found it easy to do the recordings.

I found it hard to make the arrows rotate.

I really enjoyed doing my pepeha.

Next time I need to know how to rotate the shapes.
